Archerfield House wedding by Edinburgh wedding photographer, Ricky Baillie Photography.

Although Anna and Rich live in the centre of London, they have strong ties to Scotland, so while they could have had a wedding in London, they decided to get married at the stunning Archerfield House in North berwick. Weddings at Archerfield House are always luxurious and classy so it really was the perfect wedding venue for this pair who are exactly that! Edinburgh wedding photographers love it out here, as you have not just a beautiful stately home to work with but also the surrounding grounds and beach front locations are a wedding photographer’s dream!

I met with a Anna and Rich in Edinburgh about a year before the big day to chat all things wedding and to get to know them better. Five minutes into our coffee’s, it became clear how relaxed and outgoing they are as a couple. They wanted their wedding to reflect that and to be as chilled as possible whilst keeping with traditions. As their wedding photographer, I was keen to let them enjoy time with their friends and family as much as possible and this is what I always try to do on a wedding day. Sure, we always get some time for the couples portraits after the ceremony but it doesn’t have to take over the whole day. I like to split the time up to allow for a few shots after the ceremony and save the best time until after the wedding breakfast - usually around an hour before sunset!

The morning preparations started of in the opulent bedrooms of the main house before heading off down the road to Aberlady church. It’s just a short hop from Archerfield House and is a lovely drive! The ceremony was beautiful and moving. I love capturing these moments from the sidelines, its pure documentary wedding photography at this stage and always produces images that will help you relive the most important part of the day.

Back over to Archerfield House for some canapes, champagne, giant jenga and the ice cream cart. Love it! It was a beautiful day, so ice cream went down a treat with all the wedding guests. I got Anna and Rich away for a few photos while we were on our way down to the waterfront pavillion, as it seemed a waste not to take advantage of the gorgeous wooded area just off the main driveway. The light was also beautiful.

After a wonderful meal and a brilliant best man speech we were treated to a pipe band display. Like an entire pipe band! amazing. As the sun started to go down we headed out onto the rocks at the water and got some more relaxed and fun portraits before heading back inside to party! Anna and Rich were so much fun to work with and really enjoyed being in the moment. Care free and loving life!

I loved this wedding and getting to hang out with Anna, Rich and their guests was a fantastic experience.

I’d just like to congratulate them again on the news that they are expecting their first child and I couldn’t be happier for them!!

Best wishes for the future you guys :)
